• Globally, Focus is up 20 percent in the first half of 2013 compared with the same period last year
• In addition, Ford Fiesta ranks as the fourth best-selling vehicle overall, and is the world’s best-selling subcompact vehicle through June 2013
• Ford is the only brand with two nameplates among the global top five best-sellers

Ford Reduces Water and Oil Use at Plants Globally

Ford is once again showing commitment to the planet and green initiatives by reducing their use of oil and water during the vehicle production process.  Ford has expanded the use of near-dry-machining technology in plants globally.  This not only reduces the use of oil and water but also improves plant air quality by eliminating airborne mist normally present while using traditional wet-machining techniques.  Read more about the process here.

TODAY at Lakewood Fordland: Costumes For Kids

Lakewood Fordland is teaming up with other Denver area Ford dealerships and the YMCA of Metro Denver for a Halloween Costume Drive called Costumes for Kids. A Ford F-150 dressed up in a monster Halloween costume will be collecting new Halloween costumes and accessories for kids. The YMCA of Metro Denver will then distribute the costumes to kids and families in need.  More details are available here.

• Aggregate data from MyFord® Mobile app show customers drive more than 8,400 electric-only miles every hour and about 203,000 electric-only miles daily – enough to travel around the earth’s equator nearly eight times
• MyFord Mobile is available on Ford plug-in hybrids, Fusion Energi and C-MAX Energi; and Focus Electric, a battery-electric vehicle
• Data show that for plug-in hybrids, the number of all-electric trips increases by nearly 50 percent after the first six months of ownership, due to improved driving habits acquired through the use of exclusive features and a rapidly growing infrastructure, including Ford’s expanding workplace charging network
• Ford PowerUp Tour launches this month, which aims to help consumers learn about the benefits of Ford plug-in hybrid and electric vehicles
