Ford and Heinz Collaborate on Sustainable Material Research

Ford and Heinz are collaborating on research to investigate the use of tomato fibers, such as dried tomato skins, in a sustainable composite material that can be used in vehicles.  Researchers are looking at the durability of this material for use in Ford vehicle wiring brackets and storage bins.  Use of this type of material could reduce the use of petrochemicals, thus reducing the impact of vehicles on the environment.  Read more about this research here.
